Overview:
We are recruiting for a proactive and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing team in Banbury. This is a full-time, permanent position starting on a 6am 2pm shift, with potential to move to a day shift in the future. The role offers a competitive salary between £35,000 and £45,000, plus an 11% shift allowance.
As a Maintenance Engineer , you will carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment. You will support production uptime, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns on machinery and site systems
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, PLCs (Siemens), motors, sensors, and drives
Support with installations, upgrades, and optimisation projects
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and documented accurately
Work collaboratively with other departments to meet operational targets
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Maintenance Engineer or Electrical Maintenance role
Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems in an industrial environment
Familiarity with PLC programming and diagnostics (Siemens S7, TIA Portal preferred)
Ability to read technical and electrical schematics
A hands-on, safety-conscious approach with good communication and problem-solving skills
