Job Description:
This role is responsible for operating machines and preparing metal or hard composition objects by abrading surfaces to remove scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to achieve specified finishes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Load specified steel shot into the machine.
* Mask or cover specified areas of objects to protect them from abrasion.
* Load parts onto racks in enclosed rooms or tumbling machines.
* Adjust equipment valves to regulate pressure and abrasive mixture composition.
* Start equipment to direct blasts of abrasive-laden compressed air over parts' surfaces.
* Direct nozzle over surfaces of large parts.
* Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications.
* Recover and prepare steel shot for reuse or disposal.
* Use forklift to move trailers within the production facility.
* Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
* Continual standing frequent walking and use of hand and finger dexterity.
* Occasional climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
* Occasional talking or hearing.
* Workaround fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals.
* The very loud noise level in the work environment.
* Occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 33 pounds.
* Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used include forklift and Cotter man platform.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent experience in engineering or mechanical industry.
* One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
