About the Role: As a Local Environmental Quality Coordinator, you'll coordinate and project manage various environmental quality and certification programmes within the LEQ department. Working closely with the Local Environmental Quality Manager, you'll ensure effective delivery, maintain stakeholder engagement, and supervise departmental officers, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordination: Manage resources, including field officers, to deliver programme outputs effectively within budget and deadlines.
• Project Management: Lead on planning, implementation, and reporting of environmental quality initiatives.
• Surveying and Certifications: Coordinate certification programmes such as Blue Flag, Green Flag, and cleanliness surveys across boroughs and neighbourhoods.
• Community Engagement: Develop and enhance community participation in sustainability initiatives, promoting award programmes and expanding geographical coverage.
• Communications: Act as the primary point of contact, responding to technical enquiries, representing the charity at events, and preparing relevant content for various platforms.
• Research Support: Assist in research and policy analysis to drive environmental sustainability, staying updated on survey and assessment methodologies.
• Authority and Decision-making: Commission work aligned with our procedures, manage stakeholder communications proactively, and assist in marketing initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Essential: Relevant third-level qualification or three years' equivalent experience, with at least 1 year in surveying/auditing, 2 years successful programme delivery experience, and 1 year staff supervision.
• Desirable: Experience in data collection, analysis, reporting, voluntary sector, or local government roles.
• Skills: Strong ICT skills (Microsoft Office).
• Licence: Full current driving licence and access to transport.

Knowledge & Understanding:

• Essential: Environmental issues.
• Desirable: Behaviour change principles.

Personal Qualities:

• Effective independent and team working abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

Additional Working Requirements:

• Occasional travel throughout Northern Ireland and flexibility to occasionally work beyond standard office hours may be required.

Hours of Business:

• Flexible business hours between 8am - 6pm. Core hours: 10am - 4pm, Monday - Friday.
• Hybrid (2 days office-based in Belfast).

Salary:

£30,328

Contract Type:

Permanent (subject to ongoing funding)

This position is partially funded through the DAERA Environment Fund.
