Legal Counsel - Insurance

£90,000 - £100,000 (D.O.E)

Legal Counsel is required to join a specialist provider of insurance services, a subsidiary of a well-known Global Reinsurance business.

About the Legal Counsel;

Develop, negotiate, and review a range of commercial insurance agreements, including insurance distribution agreements, data use agreements etc
Draft and negotiate wordings on insurance products and related documentation
Assisting with regulatory matters as required
Assist the business with developing and improving insurance products
Provide legal advice on insurance law, excluding claims handling
Collaborate with legal teams both internally and internationally across the Group
Responsible for training with internal business functions to improve understanding of wordings, coverage, and general insurance law matters

Requirements of the Legal Counsel;

Legally qualified, preferably in the UK
Experience working within UK insurance Law, either in-house or in a private practice setting
Candidates with experience in SII is highly desirable
Agency or Distribution Law and/ or experience with wordings
