Learning Support Assistant - Mainstream Secondary School - Bexley
Start: Immediate | Full-Time | Long-Term (Until End of Academic Year)
A well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Bexley is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team immediately. This is a full-time, long-term role lasting through to the end of the current academic year, with the potential for extension for the right candidate.
Pay Range: Dependent on experience
Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND, ensuring they can access the curriculum and reach their full potential
Assist teaching staff in delivering inclusive education
Implement strategies to support learning, emotional well-being, and behaviour
Support pupils both inside and outside of the classroom environment
Contribute to the development of individual learning plans and behavioural strategies
Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people is essential
Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is highly desired
Must hold a valid DBS on the Update Service
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
A proactive, patient, and resilient approach to support work
A genuine interest in education and helping students achieve their best
