We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals interested in supporting students' academic development and personal growth as Study Skills Mentors. This role is ideal for those with a passion for education and hoping to enter into a career working with young people. As a Study Skills Mentor, you will help students build essential skills for success, boost their confidence, and support their overall educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support sessions focused on developing effective study habits, organisation, time management, and other essential academic skills.
- Work with students across a range of year groups, from Key Stage 1 through to Post-16.
- Develop and implement individualised approaches that cater to each student's unique learning needs and aspirations.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that builds students' confidence and self-esteem.
- Work with students who may have Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, adapting approaches to ensure inclusivity and accessibility in learning.
- Maintain ongoing communication with students and their families regarding progress and any areas for further development.
Requirements:
- Must hold an undergraduate degree.
- A strong interest in pursuing a career in education or working with young people.
- An interest in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong, positive relationships with students.
- A DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one before employment commences.
- Awareness of UK curriculum.
Session Details & Compensation:
- Sessions can be delivered online or face-to-face depending on student requirements.
- Flexible working hours to suit your availability, with the opportunity for up to 15 hours per student a week.
- Pay rate ranges from £15-22 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
