Role Overview:
This is an outstanding opportunity for a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of building services design solutions across a wide range of projects. Working closely with Senior Engineers and Directors, you’ll be given the support and mentoring to develop your technical expertise and progress your career within a forward-thinking and growing consultancy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the mechanical design of building services systems, including HVAC, hot and cold water, and public health systems
* Assist in the production of design calculations, specifications, and technical reports
* Use relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, IES, or similar) to assist with design and modelling
* Attend design team meetings and site visits to gain hands-on experience
* Liaise with clients, architects, and other consultants to ensure project objectives are met
* Work across various sectors including commercial, residential, and heritage
* Continuously learn and develop under the guidance of senior team members
Candidate Requirements:
* Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
* 0–2 years' experience in a similar role within the building services/M&E sector (graduates welcome)
* A keen interest in developing a career within mechanical building services design
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Enthusiastic, driven, and willing to learn
* Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, or IES (desirable but not essential)
