Junior Accountant

Our client is a professional and client-focused accounting firm that delivers high-quality accountancy services in Inverness. They seeking a Junior Accountant who has worked within an accountancy practice and is ready to bring their foundational knowledge into a client-focused, fast-paced environment. You'll be working across a variety of client portfolios, assisting with accounting, bookkeeping, tax preparation, and more.
Responsibilities:
�Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
�Handle bookkeeping tasks using cloud-based software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
�Prepare VAT returns and assist with tax computations
�Support senior accountants in audits and financial reporting
�Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with regulations
�Liaise directly with clients to request documents or resolve queries
Requirements:
�Previous experience working in an accountancy practice (essential)
�Familiarity with accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, or similar)
�Part-qualified AAT/ACCA/ACA or studying towards a qualification
�Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills
�Effective communicator with a proactive attitude
