Permanent, full-timeThis position can be based anywhere in the UKThe HSE Officerwill report to the Head of EPC and O&M HSSE. The position shall support him in fulfilling his HSSE duties. The HSE Officerwill be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of HSSE across ib vogt’s project pipeline, following international standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 as well as Worldbank ESH Guidelines and IFC Performance Standards. This position will provide leadership and coordination for the overall Construction HSSE management and the day-to-day HSSE requirements to fulfill local HSSE- and ib vogt´s policy requirements.
Your Job Ensuring compliance with applicable occupational health & safety, social, and environmental regulations and standards across ib vogt’s project pipeline.Coordinate with the construction management team, the corporate ESG department and regional HSSE colleagues on implementation of the ESMS in construction projects and in operational assets.Performing Site HSSE inspections as required.Recording and reporting on construction HSSE metrics and KPIs.Preparing, maintaining and advancing Operational HSSE tools, templates, plans etc. in coordination with the Head of EPC and O&M HSSE and the construction management team.Supporting during identification and selection of consultants.Identify local occupational health & safety, social, and environmental regulations and standards in countries with ib vogt EPC activities.Assist in the coaching, mentoring and implementation of the HSSE programs on site.Develop a Site HSE Management Plan for the projects to ensure a safe work environment for all company employees, contractors, visitors, and community.Provide direction, support and resource to all site managers, supervisors, foremen and safety advisors.Ensure that all incidents and accidents are reported promptly to internal and external stakeholders.Participate and assist the supervisors, foremen and safety advisors in the investigation of incidents and accidents to determine root cause, and corrective actions where necessary.Ensure incident and accident corrective actions are followed up on and completed.Coordinate a regular meeting with project manager, site manager & project safety team to review issues, trends and upcoming conditions or events.Act as the point of escalation for local HSSE issues. Your profile Proven experience in occupational health and safety supervisory roles within the construction industry in UK markets.Knowledge of electrical installations and renewable energy projects.Possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Ability to implement management systems.Flexible with a positive attitude.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work well in a team environment and provide support as needed.Bachelor’s degree, in a related field or equivalent working experience.Minimum 5 years of occupational health and safety supervisory experience in a construction environment.Management level occupational health and safety certification e.g. NEBOSH international general certificate in occupational health and safety.CDM (construction Design and Management regulation) knowledge.Fire marshal and first aid training certifications required.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.Excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal.Willingness to travel and work on the project sites. Nice to have Management level environmental certification ex. NEBOSH environmental management certificate will be a plus.IOSH chartered member is a plus.Experience with social aspects in projects is a plus.Social certification e.g. SA8000 Introduction & Basic Auditor Training is a plus.Knowledge of the solar sector is beneficial.
