Dunbar Education is excited to be collaborating with a reputable primary school in their search for a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), Our partner school is committed to providing an inclusive and enriching learning environment where every child can reach their full potential.

We are seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic about supporting teaching and learning across the school. As an integral member of the staff team, you will work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality education and pastoral care, making a positive difference to the lives of students and contributing to the overall success of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead small group interventions and deliver pre-planned lessons under the guidance of the class teacher, ensuring that learning objectives are met and progress is tracked effectively.
  • Provide one-to-one support for students with specific learning needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping them to access the curriculum and make meaningful progress.
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and organisation of teaching materials, resources, and learning activities, tailoring them to meet the individual needs and interests of students.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development through encouragement, praise, and constructive feedback.
  • Support the class teacher in maintaining a safe, orderly, and inclusive learning environment, implementing behaviour management strategies and promoting positive behaviour.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities, sharing expertise and best practice with colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), including experience leading group interventions and delivering structured learning activities.
  • A good understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies, with the ability to support students across a range of subjects and age groups.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Empathy, patience, and a nurturing approach to supporting students' social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to engage in further training and learning opportunities.
