My client is a respected and forward-thinking civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport infrastructure solutions across the UK. With an impressive and growing portfolio of projects, they are currently delivering:
·Rail works including E&P renewals across Southern and Anglia regions,
·Station enhancement projects in the South West and North West Central,
·Access For All schemes nationwide,
·And highways upgrades for National Highways and local authorities in regions such as Sussex, Essex, Norfolk, the M25 corridor, Manchester, York, Devon, and Somerset.
As their operations continue to expand, my client is seeking experienced and innovative Technical Managers to provide expert engineering support across bids and live projects.

The Role
The Technical Manager will play a key role in driving innovation, solving engineering challenges, and ensuring technical excellence across project delivery and pre-construction activities. Reporting to an Engineering Manager, this individual will:
·Deliver innovative temporary works solutions for both live projects and tender submissions.
·Provide technical leadership and guidance to site and bid teams on design management and temporary works procedures.
·Ensure compliance with safety standards and technical approval processes, both internally and with clients.
·Represent the business in technical discussions with stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and suppliers.
·Conduct site visits, inspections, and technical audits, offering coaching to Temporary Works Coordinators.
·Actively contribute to personal development and support the continuous improvement of engineering practices.

What We're Looking For
Personal Attributes
·Strong commitment to quality, safety, and project timelines
·Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within teams
·Clear and confident communicator, both verbal and written
·Curious mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications & Experience
·Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related discipline
·Site-based construction or civil engineering experience (highly desirable)
·Sound understanding of temporary works design and engineering methodologies
·Working toward or holding membership with a professional body such as the ICE
·Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, designers, and supply chain partners
·Familiarity with engineering software, CAD tools, and BIM (preferred)
·Passion for technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
