Position: HGV Workshop Manager
Salary: £50,000 DOE
Location: Gatwick
Rota: Monday – Friday 8 am – 6 pm
We are seeking an experienced HGV Workshop Manager to oversee the operations of our workshop and maintain the HGV fleet to the highest achievable standards ensuring vehicle availability whilst complying with legal requirements ensuring minimum down time.
Duties:
- Planning and managing the maintenance and repair function
- Day-to- day allocation of work ensuring quality and consistent results
- Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and requirements to meet the Department of Transport Operators licence as well as H&S legislation
- Liaise and troubleshoot with external contractors, suppliers and manufacturers to ensure CCL receive best results
- Actively research additional revenue streams for the Garage, building business cases for presentation the Managing Director.
- Responsibility for the recruitment, management and training of all engineering staff.
Skills:
- Demonstrate previous experience in a senior engineering supervisory or management role within the HGV sector
- Meticulous time management and planning skills with the ability to make rational decisions under pressure
- Technical training from one of the leading manufacturers
- Ability to work on a flexible basis responding to operational demands
- Ability to take initiative with a pro-active approach and control in a pressurised environment
