HGV Highways Operative - Tavistock

Our clients are looking for a Highways Operative to join their hardworking dedicated team in Tavistock.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work as part of a team undertaking Highways repairs, ranging from Patching, Resurfacing, Potholes, Drainage, Footways and General Highway Maintenance.

* Use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.

* Drive/operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the for the day to day tasks set.

* Take responsibility for vehicles/plant/materials in your charge.

* Where appropriate provide direction/supervision of the work to less experienced operatives.

Essential Skills:

* Clean driving License.

* A commitment to Health and Safety.

* Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy.

* Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers.

* CSCS Card.

Desirable Skills:

* Highways experience.

* HGV licence.

* New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA).

* Operative Accreditation Lantra 12d.

* Winter Works

Rate of Pay:

* £13.00-£13.50 per hour depending upon experience.

* These will be PAYE positions so you will benefit from.

* Accrued Holiday Pay from day one.

* Pension contributions (after a qualifying period).

* Weekly Pay.

* No Umbrella payments or fees.

* Only Tax and National Insurance deductions and this will be shown on your payslip.

This is a temporary role, but there is a possibility this could become permanent in the future
