Role details:
Our client, a leading entity within the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join their team in Rugeley. This role is available on a contract basis, temp-to-perm or permannet from the offset. The role demands a hands-on approach to Health and Safety management within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for planning, facilitating and reporting on all activities within the Health & Safety remit, whilst closely interacting with all stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Drive positive change and mature the safety culture
  • Collaborate with the QHSE Manager and Senior Leadership to embed health and safety strategies across the business
  • Oversee H&S risk management, regulatory compliance (ISO45001) and maintain strong relationships with external regulators
  • Ensure the delivery of H&S improvements that support sustainable program delivery
  • Support with company-wide general learning and development activities including informative training materials, delivering training and sourcing external training
  • Conduct internal audits and legal compliance audits to a high standard

Job Requirements:
  • NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent
  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., IOSH) would be desirable
  • Proven H&S advisory experience in a large, complex organisation, ideally with multi-site, manufacturing, or engineering environments
  • Comfortable in navigating fast-paced, heavily regulated environments
  • Excellent communicator at all levels of an organisation
  • Strong stakeholder management, experience implementing H&S management systems across diverse environments, and a collaborative approach to influencing and engaging stakeholders effectively
  • Proactive and authentic health and safety professional
  • Innovative, adaptable problem solver and someone who enjoys a challenge
  • Able to communicate with confidence and gravitas
  • Able to engage, gain buy-in from others and build trusted partnerships
  • Comfortable with working autonomously at times
  • Approachable, self-motivated and keen to develop
