Head of Payroll

This role is based at Suffolk Constabulary PHQ, Martlesham Heath, Suffolk.
Role Overview: As the Head of Payroll, you will lead the Payroll Transactions Team, providing support to senior managers in the Finance and People Directorate. You will be responsible for managing all payroll-related processes, ensuring compliance with HR policies and employment tax legislation, and overseeing pension administration.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Payroll Transactions Team.
Oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and appraisals.
Interpret and apply HR policy and employment tax legislation.
Manage monthly and tax year-end reporting, including pension reporting.
Act as the Technical Lead for employment tax and ensure tax governance.
Administer Pension Schemes and maintain relationships with administrators.
Review and improve pension processes to meet service level agreements.
