Location: Birmingham - onsite full time
About the Role
We're on the lookout for an experienced and forward-thinking Head of IT to take the reins of our technology landscape. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who knows how to align IT with business goals, lead service delivery teams, and make the most of the Microsoft tech stack.
You'll be leading a small but growing IT function, ensuring our systems, infrastructure, and services run like clockwork. Your remit will cover strategy and service management to stakeholder engagement and tech delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Own and drive the IT strategy in line with business objectives - building a technology enabled business using modern solutions
Lead IT operations, service delivery and support functions across multiple sites
Manage and develop the internal IT team and third-party suppliers
Ensure robust, secure and scalable infrastructure across the business
Oversee Microsoft stack services (365, Azure, Intune, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
Champion ITIL-based service delivery, ensuring SLAs and KPIs are met
Drive continuous improvement, automation and standardisation across IT services
Act as the point of escalation for all critical IT incidents and issues
Support wider technology projects
Manage budgets, procurement and vendor relationships
Ensure compliance with data security, GDPR and best practices
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role - ideally as Head of IT, IT Manager or similar
Strong background in service delivery and ITIL practices
Deep knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem - including Azure, Microsoft 365, Endpoint Manager, etc.
Strong experience with infrastructure, networking, cloud and security
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Able to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day operational delivery
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, change-driven environment
A collaborative leader who enjoys mentoring and developing teams
Nice to Have
ITIL certification (v3 or v4)
Microsoft certifications (e.g. Azure Administrator, MS-900, etc.)
Experience in regulated industries or working to ISO27001 standards
