Principal Education is recruiting on behalf of a well-established secondary school in the London Borough of Waltham Forest (E17) for a Head of Humanities to start in September 2025.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or current middle leader to take on a key role overseeing History, Geography, and Religious Education. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team, drive curriculum development, and contribute to whole-school improvement strategies.

Position: Head of Humanities

Start Date: September 2025

Location: Waltham Forest (E17), East London

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR 2b (Outer London weighting)

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Have a strong track record of teaching and raising attainment in Humanities subjects

Possess experience in curriculum planning and departmental leadership

Be passionate about developing critical thinking and cultural understanding in students

Demonstrate strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
