The successful candidate will:

• Be an outstanding History teacher with a proven track record of delivering excellent student outcomes.
• Possess a genuine passion for History and a desire to inspire a love of the subject in young people.
• Have a clear understanding of current pedagogical best practice in History education.
• Demonstrate the ability to lead, manage, and develop a team of dedicated History teachers.
• Be committed to curriculum innovation and creating an engaging and challenging learning experience for students of all abilities.
• Possess excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Share our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and the holistic development of every child.
• Ideally have previous experience in a leadership or responsibility role within a History department, though ambitious and highly skilled teachers looking for their first leadership position are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide inspirational leadership and strategic direction for the History department.
• Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of a rich and engaging History curriculum across all key stages.
• Lead and manage the History teaching team, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
• Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department, implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
• Analyse student progress data to identify areas for development and ensure appropriate interventions are in place.
• Promote a love of History through extracurricular activities, trips, and other enrichment opportunities.
• Contribute to the wider school community and uphold its values and ethos.
