Head of Food Technology

A high-performing and respected secondary school in Reading is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Food Technology to lead the subject from either ASAP or September. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the curriculum and leading a small team in delivering inspiring and practical lessons in food, nutrition, and healthy living. The department is supported by a newly refurbished food room and modern equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

Curriculum design and planning for KS3 and GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition.

Leading engaging lessons that promote culinary skill, nutrition literacy, and safety.

Overseeing extracurricular activities including cooking clubs and competitions.

Working closely with pastoral staff to promote wellbeing and healthy lifestyles.

*

Supporting cross-curricular initiatives with PE, Science, and PSHE.
