Interim Head of Finance
West London / Hybrid
Rate: £750 per day (Umbrella)
A Local Authority in West London is seeking an Interim Head of Finance to lead the Homes & Communities Finance Teams within Financial Management.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership to the Homes & Communities Finance Teams, ensuring high-quality financial direction, business partnering, and advisory support.
Develop and implement the Council’s financial strategy, including building complex financial models to guide decision-making.
Support the formulation of a long-term vision for financial services, aligned with the Council’s objectives and challenges.
Partner with senior stakeholders and directorates to maximise the use of limited financial resources and provide strategic financial insight.
Contribute to corporate planning and support statutory financial responsibilities of the Chief Finance Officer.
Requirements:
Fully qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, or CIMA).
Proven experience in developing annual budgets and final accounts in a local authority setting.
Significant senior management experience, with a strong track record of leading professional finance teams.
Deep understanding of public sector accounting principles, governance, and strategic financial planning
