Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (depending on experience)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and motivated Head of IT / Computer Science to lead a forward-thinking and well-supported department in a high-performing secondary school in Northamptonshire.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape curriculum delivery across all key stages, lead a team of dedicated staff, and contribute to whole-school digital development and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the IT/Computer Science department across KS3–KS5

*

Develop and deliver a curriculum that is modern, engaging, and relevant

*

Monitor and support student progress to achieve excellent outcomes

*

Drive innovation in teaching and learning, including the responsible use of AI and emerging technologies

*

Mentor and develop team members, contributing to a positive department culture

Candidate Profile:

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

*

Experience teaching IT/Computer Science at KS3–KS5

*

A strong track record of raising standards and outcomes

*

Previous leadership experience (as a Head of Department or Second-in-Department)

*

Passionate about the subject and committed to promoting digital literacy across the school
