Groundworker

Location: Friston, Suffolk

Pay Rate: £20 - £26 ph PAYE/ PAYE UMBRELLA/ CIS UMBRELLA

Key Responsibilities:

Site preparation and clearance

*

Excavating and backfilling trenches

*

Installation of pipework and ducting for drainage, water, and utilities

*

Laying kerbs, edgings, slabs, and block paving

*

Pouring and finishing concrete (footings, foundations, slabs)

*

Setting out and measuring using levels and lasers

*

Operate plant equipment such as dumpers, rollers, or excavators (if qualified)

*

Ensuring work is performed in accordance with site drawings and specifications

*

Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition

*

Adhering to health and safety regulations and reporting hazards

Required Skills and Experience:

*

Previous experience as a groundworker on civil engineering or construction projects

*

Ability to read construction drawings and use measuring equipment

*

Good understanding of drainage systems, concrete works, and reinstatement

*

Skilled in kerbing, paving, and other hard landscaping

*

Awareness of safe digging practices and underground services

*

CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) – Essential
