General Supplies Technical Manager

Purpose: The role of the General Supplies Technician will be to work as part of a small team of technical specialists within the cross functional General Supplies and Oils Lubricants and Gases (GS & OLG) team. The primary role of the technical team is to assist in the product specification development, in-service technical management, rationalisation and commercialisation of a range of products required to maintain and support a vast range of military platforms and facilities operating in the Land, Air and Maritime environments.
Main Duties & Responsibilities: Reporting to the GS & OLG Commodity manager, you will:
* Act as the technical expert for the range of GS products, incl Batteries, providing day-to-day technical product support to Team Leidos and the customer.
* Provide the GS competency to advise on product modifications, safety cases and safety issues within Team Leidos.
* Have the confidence and initiative to build relationships with customers and suppliers to agree product requirements and specifications.
* Work with industry experts to seek out potential for improvements to and rationalisation of product ranges, by attending contract meetings, industry expos and trade fairs to keep abreast of industry trends and innovations.
