Looking for a GP Physician to Join family health group (FHG), 30 Minutes from Downtown Toronto – Available ASAP

Our partner in Scarborough, Ontario is looking for a motivated full-time Family Physician to join their large collegial Family Health Group (FHG) practice model, available mid 2025. All GPs are encouraged to apply note a female physician is preferred due to patient demographics. There is a waiting list of patients as patient demand currently exceed the team’s capacity at the clinic additionally there are physicians planning to retirement looking to do a soft transition of their rostered patients to the new physician – this is a great opportunity with strong potential for quick growth while building a practice. Work as part of a kind and collaborative physician group in a space in a full-service location with Xray, Ultrasound, laboratory, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and specialist physicians in the immediate vicinity. The clinics has been established in the community for over 20 years and has a strong relationship with the residents in the surrounding areas which comprises of a diverse population of cultural backgrounds.

The clinic uses OSCAR EMR and is very advanced in technology ensuring a seamless experience for both physicians and patients, with tools like online booking, secure messaging, automated patient reminders and AI-driven task management. The clinic is also supported by a dedicated in-house technical IT team. The clinic offers support from seasoned professionals, a comprehensive orientation process, administrative staff and billing support. Payment structure is a cost sharing split arrangement of 70/30 and the range of potential annual earnings of approximately $500,000+CAD possible within a year or two, with full time attendance and depending on patient roster size.

Responsibilities

  • Routine Check-ups & Preventive Care – Conducting regular health assessments, screenings, and vaccinations to prevent illnesses.
  • Diagnosing & Treating Illnesses – Managing both acute and chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and infections.
  • Patient Education – Advising on lifestyle changes, nutrition, and disease prevention.
  • Prescribing Medications & Treatments – Recommending appropriate medications and therapies.
  • Coordinating Care – Referring patients to specialists when needed and collaborating with other healthcare providers.
  • Maintaining Medical Records – Keeping detailed patient histories, including allergies, medications, and immunization status.
  • Mental Health Support – Assisting with emotional and psychological concerns, including stress and anxiety management.

Clinic Details: This well-established multi-disciplinary practice is physician owned and operated, providing the opportunity for a completely turnkey practice working alongside other friendly physicians and a team of dedicated longstanding staff. You will be a part of a team of 6 other physicians serving the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) for over 20 years as well as the surrounding community with primary, specialty medical services and walk-in clinic services. The clinic has previously supervised IMGs and this opportunity is available.

The location: A suburb of Toronto, Scarborough has a population of approximately 650,000. Located on the eastern part of the city, along the Lake Ontario, it is known for its ethnic diversity, stunning natural scenery, including the Scarborough Bluffs. It is home to The Toronto Zoo and Rouge National Urban Park, the largest urban national park in Canada. There are some beautiful beaches along the Lake, and Bluffers Beach is widely known as the nicest beach in Toronto. Requirements:
Postgraduate training from Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia or USA.
Eligible for certification by the College of Family Physicians Canada (CFPC)
Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
