Job Title: General Manager
Reports to: Managing Director
Hours of work: Monday- Friday 8am-5pm

Our client has earned a reputation as one of the UK’s leading engineering firms. We are now looking for an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead operations at a facility based in Coventry.

As General Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations, reporting directly to the Managing Director. Your core duties will include:
* Providing strategic and operational leadership, fostering a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement, accountability, and excellence in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
* Managing a workforce of over 100 employees, including oversight of recruitment, training and development, performance management, succession planning, and disciplinary procedures.
* Ensuring exceptional levels of customer satisfaction across all areas of the business through the delivery of high-quality service and operational excellence.
* Controlling operational budgets, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring all business and profitability targets are consistently achieved.
* Leading continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing process enhancements to drive operational efficiency, productivity, and product quality.
* Overseeing all departmental functions to ensure alignment with company objectives and that performance targets are met or exceeded across the board.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
* Extensive senior management experience within an engineering environment, ideally with a strong background in sheet metal, fabrication and laser cutting operations.
* A demonstrable track record of driving business growth and delivering sustained profitability, with a strong commitment to customer service excellence.
* In-depth understanding of management profit and loss accounts, with the ability to make data-driven decisions that enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
* Strong commercial and financial acumen, combined with a collaborative leadership style and the ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
* Proven ability to influence and build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers, creating a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
* Energetic, confident, and hands-on leadership approach, with excellent communication skills and a natural ability to inspire those around you.
Travel to other sites may be required to suit business needs.
