Job Title: Front Line Maintenance Manager (Electrical Bias - Print & Packaging)

Job Purpose:
To lead and manage the front-line maintenance team within a print and packaging environment, with a strong focus on electrical systems. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime and reliability across high-speed printing and packaging lines, while promoting a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day maintenance activities across printing presses, converting machines, packaging equipment, and ancillary systems.
Supervise a team of electrical and mechanical technicians, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is completed efficiently and effectively.
Take ownership of electrical fault finding and diagnostics, particularly with PLC-controlled print and packaging machinery.
Prioritize breakdown response and planned maintenance tasks to minimize disruption to production schedules.
Maintain and enforce safety standards in line with site policies and relevant regulations (e.g., PUWER, LOLER, BS 7671).
Collaborate with production teams to coordinate downtime, equipment handover, and root cause investigations.
Champion a proactive maintenance culture, using data-driven insights to prevent recurring failures and extend asset life.
Ensure compliance with internal procedures and external audits (e.g., BRC, ISO).
Support installation, commissioning, and upgrade projects across electrical systems.
Maintain effective control of electrical spare parts and manage relationships with suppliers as required. Required Qualifications & Experience:
Recognized Electrical Engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND).
18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) certification.
Proven supervisory or team lead experience in a high-volume print or packaging environment.
Solid experience with electrical maintenance on print and packaging equipment
Competence in fault finding and repair of PLC systems, drives, and automation equipment.
Working knowledge of maintenance planning systems (e.g., CMMS).
Strong understanding of health and safety legislation in a manufacturing environment.Desirable Skills & Experience:
Working knowledge of lean tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, TPM).
Mechanical aptitude or multi-skilled capability.
IOSH or NEBOSH safety qualification. Personal Attributes:
