Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (term-time only – no weekends or school holidays)

About the Role:
This exciting opportunity involves teaching pupils within the Foundation Phase in a vibrant and welcoming primary school in Newport. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons that follow the National Curriculum and promote a positive start to each child’s learning journey.
The school is also open to working with eager and proactive Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are ready to take the next step in their teaching journey.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality lessons that support early learning and child development
• Plan, prepare, and assess in line with Foundation Phase expectations (as required for longer-term roles)
• Create a nurturing, play-based learning environment
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families
• Uphold school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and wellbeing
• Adapt your teaching to meet the diverse needs of young learners
Who We’re Looking For:
• A fully qualified teacher (QTS), including Early Career Teachers, with experience or interest in the Foundation Phase
• Passionate about early childhood education and learning through play
• Confident in behaviour and classroom management
• Organised, creative, and motivated to inspire young children
• Registration with the EWC, or willingness to register
• A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (support provided)
• A full UK driving licence and access to a car is desirable, but not essential
