TEXO Recruitment are excited to be recruiting a Fleet Superintendent on behalf of an external client located in Hartlepool, on a Permanent basis!

This key role will oversee the maintenance and management of fleet vehicles (EVs, LCVs, ATVs, vans), trailers, and MEWPs, ensuring compliance with OEM standards, company policies, and regulations. Key responsibilities include managing HSE requirements, coordinating maintenance activities, and controlling OPEX and CAPEX budgets across multiple sites. Some travel between sites is required, and the role may involve varying environmental conditions and occasional extended hours.

Qualifications & Skills:

*

HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

*

Desired: O License awareness, IOSH certification, and Level 3 Diploma in Commercial Fleet Vehicle Management.

*

Proven experience in fleet maintenance and management across vehicle types (EVs, LCVs, MEWPs, trailers).

*

Strong understanding of OEM standards, HSE regulations, and company policy compliance.

*

Leadership experience with ability to manage, motivate, and develop teams.

*

Financial acumen with experience managing OPEX and CAPEX budgets.

*

Skilled in using maintenance management and asset tracking systems.

*

Effective problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.

*

Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking capabilities.

*

Excellent communication, reporting, and record-keeping skills.

*

Analytical ability to interpret maintenance data and improve reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

*

Ensure compliance with RAMS and Health & Safety policies; lead or support risk assessments.

*

Oversee daily departmental operations and asset management systems.

*

Plan and coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance activities.

*

Supervise engineering teams, providing direction and promoting continuous improvement.

*

Monitor team performance, identify training needs, and address underperformance.

*

Prioritize maintenance tasks in liaison with Engineering and Operations Managers.

*

Ensure timely and complete execution of the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule.

*

Liaise with suppliers to source cost-effective, high-quality parts and equipment.

*

Maintain strong relationships with employees and customers.

*

Uphold high workshop standards, including safety, housekeeping, and efficiency.

*

Produce performance reports covering fleet reliability, maintenance KPIs, and HSE compliance
