Were open to candidates based further afield, with the understanding that you would need to attend the office in Scarborough once a month. The company will cover all travel expenses, including the cost of an overnight stay for the visit. The remainder of your time will be flexible, vessel-based as required, allowing for a hybrid working arrangement. Base salary between £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE)

Overview:
Reporting to the Technical Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting on-site maintenance and repairs on our Companys growing fleet of CTVs across the UK and Europe. This will include activities ranging from minor component replacements to engine removal and installation. As a Fleet Mechanical Engineer, youll collaborate with crew members and colleagues across sites to ensure the CTV fleets continued availability. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, solution-oriented, and capable of working independently while enjoying teamwork. Roles and Responsibilities:
The Fleet Mechanical Engineer is primarily responsible for: General vessel maintenance, inspection, and repairs (Engine types: Cat C 32, C2.2, C3.3, Nannies genset; Gearboxes: ZF / Servo gear).
Fault-finding and repairs on vessel electrical, hydraulic, and heating systems.
Conducting performance tests, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
Collaborating with crew members to troubleshoot and train them on vessel maintenance and inspection.
Traveling and working away from home at multiple sites across the UK and Europe.
Adopting a flexible approach to work, particularly during breakdowns and emergency repairs.
Ensuring compliance with QHSE standards while working on company vessels and promoting a positive safety culture.
Contributing to the planning and attending annual dockings when on rota.
Monitoring stock levels in the warehouse and liaising with the Procurement department.
Purchasing and collecting spares and consumables needed for vessels.
Sending daily progress reports (DPRs) and updating the office on daily activities.
Being on-call to diagnose and resolve issues as they arise.
Building and maintaining strong working relationships with local suppliers.
Requirements: NVQ Level 3 / Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Construction, Systems Engineering, or equivalent.
3-4 years experience as a ship engineer or a strong background in shore-based marine mechanical engineering.
STCW qualifications.
Experience with OS-HSC CTV/craft vessels.
Willingness to travel overseas as directed by the company for vessel visits, inspections, port calls, docking, and maintenance.
Resilient, team-oriented, and proactive mindset.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Flexibility and availability to be on-call in case of emergencies.
Full valid driving license.
Candidates with experience in diesel engines or from other relevant industries are encouraged to apply.
