The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) provides official independent forecasts of the economy and public finances to inform the Government's fiscal policy decisions. We examine the impact of the Government's policy decisions on the public finances, and assess the prospects for achieving the Government’s fiscal targets and welfare cap.
About the role
We are recruiting three Fiscal Analysts to support our work scrutinising parts of the fiscal forecast. This includes the costings of policy decisions, contributing to our devolved forecasts and publications, the Government’s progress on meeting fiscal rules, and fiscal risks and the sustainability of the public finances. Two of the post-holders will sit in our policy costings and devolution team and one post-holder will work across our fiscal aggregates and fiscal sustainability teams.
Specific responsibilities will shift between forecasts and other OBR outputs, depending on business need and with the opportunity to reflect the post-holder’s interests.
