Location: Andover, Hampshire

Salary: £60,000–£70,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and hands-on Financial Controller to join a growing and highly respected SME based in Andover. This is a critical leadership role within a dynamic, fast-paced business supplying specialist rental equipment to major industrial sectors across the UK.

Our client operates within the equipment rental sector, providing market-leading solutions for liquid handling, storage, and processing. They serve a wide range of industries including water and wastewater treatment, petrochemical, civil engineering, and chemical processing. The Role
This is a hands-on position where you will be responsible for the full finance function, reporting directly into senior management. Leading a small, dedicated team, you will manage day-to-day operations as well as provide strategic financial guidance to support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis

* Deliver timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with UK accounting standards

* Monitor cash flow, manage investments, and oversee foreign exchange transactions

* Lead financial planning to support strategic business initiatives

* Ensure tax compliance and manage relationships with auditors and external advisors

* Drive operational efficiencies through sound financial controls and policies

* Provide strategic insight and recommendations to senior leadership

* Implement and manage asset finance and ERP systems

Requirements

Candidate Profile

* ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)

* Strong experience in SME finance leadership, ideally within a capital equipment or rental business

* Proven ability to manage the finance function independently

* Proficiency in financial systems and ERP software

* Commercially minded, proactive, and confident communicator
