Our client is a well-established and successful company. They are looking for a Mobile Field Service Engineer to travel to their customers sites around surrounding regions the UK, to carry out repairs and maintain a variety of Forklift Trucks / FLT’s / MHE / Material Handling Equipment that have been hired out by the company.

* You will have an official Automotive related Qualification/Apprenticeship in the Forklift, HGV, or Automotive industry. Experienced Technicians / Engineers will also be considered.

* You have at least 3 years experience in a customer facing, Field Engineer role, in the Automotive industry.

* You have a full UK driving licence.

Job Description:

Your role will be to provide a professional, efficient & responsive service support to customers by means of maintaining and repairing materials handling equipment to the highest standard. You will always ensure you provide value for money for both the customer and the company.

Training for any skills gaps will be provided. Once trained, you will be based from home, with some travel to the local depot to collect supplies. You will be provided with a fully stocked service van. You will be expected to have your own personal tools, however jacks, slings, power tools, and ¾ drive sockets are provided as well as any specialist tools by the company. The van will be based at engineers’ home they are given the option to opt in or out of personal use following government guidelines.

This role would suit someone with previous experience in a similar role, such as a Hydraulics Engineer / Field Service Engineer / Forklift Truck Technician / FLT Engineer / HGV Technician / HGV Engineer / HGV Mechanic / Mechanical Fitter / Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic / Field Service Technician.

Salary Details:

* Basic of £32,600 to £36,000 (dependent on experience) + Overtime + Company Van + Bonus (approximately £45k OTE)

* You will be paid an hourly rate field service from leaving home to returning home (Door to door).

* Overtime: Overtime is available depending on workload, paid at time and half of the normal hourly rate. Saturday AM work also available at time and a half (not compulsory).

* Incentive: Take half an hour lunch instead of a full hour, this counts as 30 minutes overtime at time and a half when done.

* There is also a voluntary 24 hour call out rota. This will usually be every 7- 8 weeks. This is a voluntary option, and is financially rewarded.

Standard hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (40 hours a week).

Responsibilities:

* To undertake the repair & maintenance of customer owned & fleet trucks on customers sites.

* Carry out fault diagnosis to identify reported breakdowns.

* Repair of equipment wherever possible as a first-time fix.

* Ensure all damage and faults are highlighted to customers and recorded accurately on appropriate documentation.

* Obtain purchase order numbers as per procedure.

* Ensure a value for money service is provided and the recommendations are a fair assessment of the repair required.

* Perform cost effective repairs on rental equipment or all-inclusive contracts to ensure maximum profitability and return.

* To accurately complete all paperwork required within the role, servicing sheets, breakdown reports, accident reports, timesheets, quotes etc in a timely fashion.

* To work closely with sales team, informing them of any potential leads.

* To ensure service van is kept clean & tidy, and van stock is maintained and profiled to customer base.

* Maintain Company image, department efficiency and first-time fix rate.

* Ensure necessary replacement parts and spares for stock are ordered promptly.

* Ensure all Company issued tools and safety/protective equipment are kept in a satisfactory condition reporting all deficiencies immediately.

* Quality of workmanship is maintained at the prescribed level and risk of personal or third-party injury is minimised
