Title: Estimator
Project Locations: Nationwide
Office Location: Halifax
Salary: £45k - £65k (experience depending)
Start: ASAP
Shift Pattern/Hours: Mon – Fri, 8am – 5pm
My client is a main Design & Build contractor based in the Northwest and West Yorkshire that has rapidly grown over the last few years to offer a mixture of services to their clients including Interior Fitout packages, Refurbs, Joinery packages, FF&E services, Furniture installation and Full Design services
They specialise in a few key sectors which include Hotels, Student Accommodation & Residential Apartments. However, over the last few years they’ve broke into other sectors and are looking to expand their presence in Commercial Properties, and Healthcare work.
Overview:
They are currently looking for an Estimator with at least 5 years’ experience working for a construction company. Ideally you will have experience in cost planning, pricing, and preparing procurement packs for tender. You will also be able to challenge the pre-construction and design teams when necessary and liaise effectively with the Quantity Surveyors. In the medium to long term this role offers an opportunity for growth, with the potential to oversee a Junior Estimators.
Responsibilities:
Cost Planning and Pricing: Prepare accurate cost plans and pricing for student accommodation projects, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
Procurement Preparation: Take ownership of procurement packs, getting them ready for tender.
Team Collaboration: Challenge the pre-construction and design teams to ensure the best outcomes for the project.
Liaison with Quantity Surveyors: Understand and communicate effectively with QSs to ensure accurate and comprehensive project costing.
Project Involvement: Be involved throughout the design process (up to 8 weeks) and manage the project from start to finish over a two-week period.
Site Visits: Conduct site visits as required to gather information and ensure project requirements are met.
Must Have:
Proven Experience as an Estimator in the Construction Industry
Structured Career History
Ability to travel when needed to local sites
Ability to reach & work from either the Manchester or Halifax office
