What You'll Do:
News Corp is establishing a global Architecture function to provide strategic governance across our technology estate and support business transformation initiatives. This team will be tasked with creating global technology blueprints, establishing guardrails and governance processes such as review boards and supporting the ongoing transformation initiatives across all of News Corp's enterprises.
A leadership role of Global Enterprise Architect (Digital Platforms) is being created within this team. Working alongside the other members of the Global Architecture Team the Global Enterprise Architect will be responsible for cataloging and modeling our existing enterprise technology estate, establishing architectural blueprints & guardrails that set out a future state vision and providing governance and support to the ongoing transformation initiatives across News Corp.
The Global Enterprise Architect (Digital Platforms) will have domain expertise in line of business domains such as publishing and advertising and be familiar with architectural concerns relating to enterprise and consumer data.
In addition the Global Enterprise Architect will work with the other members of the Global Architecture team to contribute to the development of all blueprints and standards across the range of architectural disciplines and domains.
Responsibilities:
Create, maintain and develop an accurate catalogue of the current (as-is) enterprise architecture incorporating all significant platforms and systems across News Corp business units.
Create, maintain and develop Architectural Blueprints for enterprise systems incorporating guardrails and principles.
Conduct governance activities (such as Architecture review boards) to ensure technology investment decisions align with standards and guardrails.
Establish a network of business and technology contacts across News Corp, maintaining regular communications and managing information exchanges between all relevant technology and architecture teams.
Work with the Global Enterprise CIO to support transformation work and the ongoing convergence and/or unification of enterprise systems.
Work with local Architects and technologists to ensure shared enterprise systems can be deployed and integrated locally with minimum disruption to business operations.
Promote and support migration of systems to established standards and blueprints.
Continually seek to identify opportunities for synergies and more effective use of enterprise assets.
Support establishing the Global Architecture team, assisting with the development of working practices, operating model and roadmap activities including tooling, communications model, governance and culture.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or 10 - 20 yrs equivalent work experience
Experience of consumer and line of business digital platforms across publishing. The will include content management, distribution, advertising & marketing, consumer solutions, identity and data.
Experience and familiarity with contemporary enterprise systems, platforms and vendor applications used within both large and small enterprises
Experience leading and participating in business transformation programs and managing systems through the entire lifecycle.
Familiarity and understanding of Architectural concerns pertaining to data, security, digital and consumer domains
Sound understanding of core operational business processes across News, Publishing and Real Estate industries.
Experience of managing and setting compliance and legal considerations (GDPR) and impact on business operations
