English Teacher

Are you passionate about literature, language, and unlocking students’ potential through the power of words? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive English department.

You will teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 (A-Level English Language and/or Literature) depending on experience. You’ll inspire students to explore classic and contemporary texts, develop their writing, and express themselves confidently and creatively. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as an English Teacher:

• Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons that meet the needs of all learners

• Prepare students for GCSE and (where applicable) A-Level assessments

• Promote literacy, critical thinking, and a love of reading across the school

• Mark and assess student work in line with school policies

• Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental CPD, and enrichment activities (e.g. book clubs, creative writing, debating)

• Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement in the classroom

Ideal English Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• A degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject

• Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment frameworks

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills as an English Teacher.
