Permanent Teacher of English (A-Level Potential) - Outstanding Barking School (English Department)
An outstanding school in Barking is seeking a talented and ambitious Permanent Teacher of English to join our dedicated English Department. This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the literacy and academic success of our students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a clear pathway and expectation to contribute to the teaching of A-Level English in our Sixth Form.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver well-structured and engaging English lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, building a strong foundation for future success.
* Nurture students' abilities in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, fostering a love of language and literature.
* Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the English Department on curriculum development and assessment across all key stages, with a view to contributing to A-Level provision.
* Monitor student progress closely, providing effective support and guidance, with a focus on preparing students for the rigours of A-Level English.
* Demonstrate a strong interest and commitment to developing the skills and knowledge required to teach A-Level English Literature and/or Language.

Qualifications & Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A relevant degree in English Language, Literature, or a related field.

* A demonstrable passion for English and a clear commitment to developing the expertise to teach at A-Level.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to inspire students and work collaboratively with colleagues.
