Engineering Supervisor – Critical Environment – City of London
We are seeking a highly capable Engineering Supervisor to lead a team of engineers at a prestigious 44-floor Shell & Core building in the City of London. This position is perfect for an experienced Engineering Supervisor with a background in critical environments such as data centres or banking, who thrives in high-demand, client-focused settings.
Key Responsibilities – Engineering Supervisor:
* Oversee a team of 12 engineers (managing up to 10 directly), working across one main floor and a small data centre.
* Act as the primary Engineering Supervisor for day-to-day operations, ensuring timely completion of reactive and planned works.
* Interface directly with a demanding client base – strong stakeholder and communication skills essential.
* Manage and support technical maintenance across critical systems including UPS, HVAC, fire/life safety, plumbing, and electrical infrastructure.
* Attend commissioning, snagging, and installation phases – ensuring alignment with client expectations and statutory compliance.
* Conduct PPM reviews, incident report evaluations, and help develop critical services training.
* Raise changes in the client Change Management system and manage quotations via internal platforms.
About You – Ideal Engineering Supervisor Candidate:
* Proven track record as an Engineering Supervisor or similar in critical services environments (preferably banking or data centre).
* Confident handling client escalation points and maintaining operational excellence under pressure.
* Holds a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installations (BS7671:2008 / 18th Edition).
* Deep understanding of building services systems including PLCs, critical cooling, water treatment, and HV/LV systems.
* Physically capable of managing site requirements (lifting, climbing, etc.).
* Exceptional IT and MS Office skills – must be tech-savvy and detail-driven.
* Experience working within structured change control and critical environment policies.
