Overview - Willing to pay relocation package**

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function at our state-of-the-art food production facility. The successful candidate will ensure all mechanical and electrical equipment operates at optimum performance, lead continuous improvement initiatives, manage compliance, and foster a safe, efficient, and innovative working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Promote a strong health and safety culture across the site, including contractors, ensuring full compliance with all policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

*

Ensure all statutory compliance requirements are up to date, recorded, and maintained for the site.

*

Oversee the execution of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities, ensuring work is completed safely, cost-effectively, on time, and to the required standard.

*

Develop and manage the site's engineering budgets, both operational and capital expenditure.

*

Ensure optimal performance of all mechanical and electrical equipment, achieving departmental service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs); respond promptly to equipment outages.

*

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment availability, improve efficiency, and reduce operational costs through methodologies such as RCM, CBM, life cycle analysis, FMEA, etc.

*

Ensure adequate resources, competent personnel, and appropriate equipment are available to meet operational demands; manage shift patterns and maintain spare part inventory levels.

*

Produce weekly and monthly reports on engineering performance, including key metrics and team updates.

*

Lead and manage the performance of all Engineering team members, ensuring high standards are achieved and maintained.

*

Recruit, train, and develop team members, including Apprentices and Graduates, creating clear development plans.

*

Oversee waste management and environmental practices to minimise environmental impact and ensure compliance with legislation.

Role Requirements:

*

Engineering Degree or HND/NVQ Level 4 in a relevant Engineering discipline, or completion of a full engineering apprenticeship.

*

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a site engineering, facilities management, and leadership role.

*

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to challenge positively and foster collaboration across teams.

*

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

*

Self-motivated and results-driven, with a proactive approach to achieving targets.

*

Ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

*

Solid knowledge and experience of PPM strategy and improvement techniques.

*

Awareness of Lean Manufacturing and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles.

*

IOSH Managing Safely certification (or higher qualification).

*

Experience in developing Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and conducting risk assessments.

*

Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and contractor management.

*

Experience in managing compliance with PUWER and COSHH regulations.

*

Familiarity with PSSR and LOLER regulations would be an advantage.

Experience working within an ISO 55001-accredited facility would be beneficial
