Electrical Purchasing Manager – High-End Residential Projects
Based in Whyteleafe, Surrey | £50,000 – £60,000 + Pension + 26 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
A specialist electrical contractor delivering complex, high-end residential and heritage projects across London is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Purchasing Manager to join their team at their Whyteleafe, Surrey head office.
This is a key role for someone with a solid understanding of electrical materials procurement and commercial processes. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all purchasing activities across multiple live projects — ensuring timely, cost-effective supply of materials and equipment — while also supporting payment certification, variation pricing, and cost tracking.
Projects typically range from £500k to £2m in value and include bespoke electrical installations within super-prime residences and listed buildings in Central London.
Key Responsibilities

Manage procurement of all electrical materials, equipment, and associated services for live projects

Maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure competitive lead times
*
Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring deliveries are aligned with programme requirements
*
Work closely with project managers and site teams to forecast and fulfil procurement needs
*
Support commercial functions such as issuing subcontractor payment certificates and tracking project costs
*
Assist with variation pricing and commercial documentation
*
Provide procurement input during tender stage and early project planning
*
Maintain accurate records and contribute to commercial reporting processes
What You’ll Need
*
Proven experience in an electrical purchasing role, ideally within the high-end residential or M&E sector
*
Strong knowledge of electrical materials, equipment, and supplier networks
*
Commercial awareness, with experience supporting QS or cost-related functions
*
Proficient in Excel and job costing/project management software
*
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
*
Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent project needs
