Were working with a long-established UK manufacturer, based in the Thrapston area that operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Due to continued investment in engineering and automation, theyre looking to expand their team with an experienced Electrical Shift Engineer. The Role
As an Electrical Shift Engineer, youll be responsible for delivering planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a broad range of automated production machinery. This includes working on PLC-controlled equipment, three-phase systems, and high-speed manufacturing lines. You'll also support mechanical maintenance as needed and play a key role in continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Electrical fault finding and repairs across production machinery
Working with PLCs for fault diagnosis
Executing planned maintenance in line with schedules
Recording activity through CMMS (Maximo)
Supporting CI and reliability projects
Liaising with production teams to minimise downtime
Ensuring all work is completed to Health & Safety standards
About You Time-served Electrical Engineer (C&G Level 3, HNC, BTEC or equivalent)
Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
PLC knowledge essential (Siemens / Allen Bradley preferred)
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Able to work autonomously or as part of a team
Comfortable working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (days/nights)
Shift: 2 days / 2 nights / 4 off. Each 8 rotations of this pattern you get 18 shifts off (which includes your holidays) Although your holidays are effectively rostered, working this pattern means you get over 7 x as much time off and work approximately only 25% of the year!
