Electrical Engineer – Pharmaceutical Project – London, UK
An established M&E contractor with a strong track record of delivering complex, high-specification projects across the UK and Europe is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for a major pharmaceutical development in London. This full-time, permanent position offers excellent long-term prospects within a technically demanding and fast-evolving sector.
This is a unique opportunity to work on a critical, cleanroom-regulated facility, contributing to the installation and commissioning of sophisticated electrical systems within a highly controlled environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage electrical installations in line with design specifications, quality standards, and programme milestones.
* Review and coordinate technical documentation and drawings to ensure clarity and buildability.
* Provide day-to-day technical support to site teams and subcontractors, ensuring efficient and compliant delivery.
* Drive quality control and safety standards across the site, ensuring strict adherence to procedures and regulations.
* Manage commissioning processes, including test pack preparation, functional testing, and system handovers.
* Maintain accurate records including daily logs, installation trackers, and compliance documentation.
* Identify and resolve site-based electrical issues, escalating where necessary to avoid programme delays.
* Promote a strong safety culture by participating in inspections, audits, and behavioural safety initiatives.
Candidate Requirements:
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering (BEng/MEng, HNC/HND).
* 2 - 4 years of experience in a similar role within the M&E or construction sector.
* Previous experience on pharmaceutical, biotech, data centre, or similarly regulated industrial projects preferred.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, containment, and commissioning processes.
* Confident communicator with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in MS Office; experience with drawing review platforms (e.g., Bluebeam, Navisworks) is a plus.
* Eligibility to work in the UK and availability for full-time site-based work in the London area.
