Electrical CRE / Lead Electrical Engineer - HS2 (London)

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical CRE/ Lead Electrical Engineer to play a key role in delivering the MEPHFC package for the landmark HS2 Old Oak Common station.

This is a high-impact position on one of the UK's most ambitious transport infrastructure projects. Hybrid working but 3 days on site/ office and you'll lead electrical design delivery, support strategic project management, and help shape a high-performing engineering team.

🔧 What You'll Be Doing:

Lead and deliver complete electrical designs-from early feasibility to as-built stage.

Act as CEM and/or CRE, ensuring technical assurance and compliance with all standards.

Support the Associate Director and deputise as needed across technical and managerial duties.

Manage, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a "right first time" approach.

Conduct design reviews and ensure alignment with assurance processes and stakeholder expectations.

Lead presentations, meetings, and technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.

Produce accurate progress reports and support procurement planning where required.

✅ What We're Looking For:

Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering.

Professionally registered (CEng or IEng) with a relevant UK engineering institution.

15+ years' experience within the rail industry, particularly in station systems design and coordination.

Experience fulfilling CEM/CRE/DPE roles under NR-L2-RSE-02009 standards.

Strong understanding of British Standards and major infrastructure regulations (Network Rail, HS2, TfL).

Expertise in electrical system design, installation, buildability, and long-term maintenance.

Proficient with electrical design tools such as Trimble/Amtech Pro Design, Dialux, or Relux.

Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management abilities.

Excellent communication, reporting, and organisational skills.
