Job Title: Early Years Trainer

Location: Homebased with regular travel across East Sussex
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)

Role Overview:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Early Years Trainer to deliver a range of Skills Bootcamps to small groups of adult learners in East Sussex. These free, flexible 12-week programmes provide sector-specific training aligned to local employer needs and offer a guaranteed job interview upon completion.

The role will be delivered primarily face-to-face, with online tools used to support planning, administration and remote support where appropriate. Class sizes will be capped at 8 learners to ensure quality engagement and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching of the following qualifications:

1. NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award in Childcare and Education (80 GLH)

*

* Child development from conception to seven years

* Children’s health and wellbeing

2. Becoming a Childminder (60 GLH)

*

* NCFE CACHE Level 3 unit: Setting up a home-based childcare service

* City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering

* Paediatric first aid (emergency focused)

3. NCFE Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning (80 GLH)

*

* Understanding schools and colleges as organisations

* Safeguarding children and young people

* Child development

* Health and safety in a learning environment

* Embed employability provision into the curriculum (e.g. CV writing, job search, interview skills, communication, teamwork)

* Use a range of assessment tools to identify learner needs and build tailored learning plans

* Maintain accurate learner records including ILPs, reviews and progress tracking

* Provide ongoing guidance and pastoral support to ensure learners remain engaged and progress successfully

* Collaborate with Employer Engagement Officers to integrate employer input and support job progression

* Contribute to curriculum planning, development, and standardisation

* Work proactively to support learner recruitment by promoting the programme through external partners

* Ensure compliance with all internal quality assurance processes and external regulatory standards

Essential/Desirable Criteria:

Essential:

* PGCE, Cert Ed or Level 5 teaching qualification

* A relevant degree or subject-specific qualification

* Experience delivering Early Years, Childcare or Education qualifications (ideally NCFE CACHE)

* Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

* Confidence using IT systems for learner tracking and virtual delivery

* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle

* Enhanced DBS (funded by employer)

Desirable:

Knowledge of Skills Bootcamps or DfE-funded adult learning programmes

Previous experience supporting adult learners back into employment

Experience embedding employability into vocational learning
