The SEN Teaching Assistant Job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to work with reception aged students with various and complex needs (SLD). You will provide one-on-one support, helping students engage with their learning and develop independence, literacy and mathematics skills. If you have patience, creativity, and a desire to make a real impact in the lives of these pupils, we would love to hear from you!

• Based in Lambeth this fantastic school is a friendly and well respected in the local community with students across the school ages 4-19.
• Pupils from Lambeth and across surrounding areas who attend this school are offered a broad and balanced curriculum, that is tailored around an extensive knowledge of their learning difficulties and tailored to them.
• Support and training offered every week to further develop your knowledge and skills as an SEN teaching assistant for children with varied needs.
• You will be working with skilled Teachers and SEN Teaching Assistant's in a classroom environment

The Early Years Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

• Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
• Promote pupil's independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
• Support with planning, preparation and resourcing for lessons
• Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
• Assist in using the EYFS framework

• Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment

The Early Years Teaching Assistant Applicant

The ideal Early Years Teaching Assistant applicant will be have the following qualities:

• Enjoyment of working with young people
• Sensitivity and understanding, to help build good relationships with pupils
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times
• Commitment to safeguarding pupil's well-being and equality
• Honest, hardworking, transparent with a willingness to learn and develop
• Experience with working with EYFS aged students
• Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and adults
• The ability to remain calm in stressful situations
