We are seeking a talented and experienced DT Teacher with a specialism in Resistant Materials to join our dedicated DT Teacher Department at a thriving school in Staffordshire. As an experienced DT Teacher, you will have a key role in guiding students to think critically and work confidently in design and technology.

As an Experienced DT Teacher (Resistant Materials), you will:

Deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially Key Stage 5, with a focus on Resistant Materials, including woods, metals, plastics, and modern materials.

Design and deliver engaging, project-based lessons that encourage problem-solving, technical skill development, and creativity as part of your role as a DT Teacher.
*
Collaborate with colleagues to shape and refine a dynamic and relevant curriculum aligned with industry trends and student interests, as a key member of the DT Teacher team.
*
Ensure a strong focus on health and safety in the workshop environment, while modelling correct use of machinery, tools, and materials as a responsible DT Teacher.
*
Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic growth and skill mastery as part of your duties as a DT Teacher.
*
Support enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities such as STEM clubs, design competitions, and practical workshops in your capacity as a DT Teacher.
*
Contribute to the development of the department and potentially mentor less experienced colleagues or lead subject-specific initiatives within the DT Teacher team.

Weβre looking for an experienced and enthusiastic DT Teacher with:

βοΈ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree or specialism in Resistant Materials or Product Design

βοΈ Strong experience delivering DT lessons, with a particular focus on practical workshop skills and project-based learning

βοΈ In-depth knowledge of materials, processes, CAD/CAM, and health & safety procedures
*
βοΈ Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills as a DT Teacher
