This is a rewarding opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to contribute to an innovative curriculum in a school where creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning are central to the student experience.

The school has a well-equipped DT suite including CAD software, 3D printers, laser cutters, and specialist areas for woodwork and electronics. Design & Technology is a core subject at KS3 and popular at GCSE.

As a DT ECT, you’ll:

Teach a range of DT topics at KS3 and KS4, including product design and resistant materials

*

Support students through practical assessments and design portfolios

*

Contribute to extra-curricular opportunities such as design clubs and STEM competitions

*

Work closely with a collaborative team to embed sustainability and innovation into projects

ECT support includes:

Structured induction and weekly mentor meetings

*

Regular CPD on both subject knowledge and pedagogy

*

Observation and coaching by experienced DT staff

*

Dedicated time for lesson planning and curriculum development

What we’re looking for:

QTS (or on track by July 2025)

*

A degree in Design Technology or a relevant subject

*

Practical skills and a passion for making

*

Commitment to inclusive, student-centred learning

*

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
