A forward-thinking secondary school in Gloucester is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Design & Technology ECT to join its dynamic Technology department from September 2025. Whether your specialism is resistant materials, graphics, product design, or systems, you’ll be supported to develop your skills in a well-resourced and inclusive environment.

The school boasts excellent facilities including modern workshops, laser cutters, 3D printers, and CAD/CAM software. The DT department is highly valued within the school, known for engaging projects that combine creativity and real-world problem solving.

As a DT ECT, your role will include:

Delivering DT lessons across KS3 and KS4, with support in planning and assessment

Developing engaging, hands-on practical tasks that promote student creativity and critical thinking

*

Working closely with a friendly and experienced DT team

*

Contributing to STEM-related clubs, competitions, or cross-curricular projects

ECT support includes:

An experienced subject mentor and weekly coaching sessions

A reduced timetable and structured induction programme over two years

CPD tailored to both subject and pedagogy

Regular peer networking with other ECTs in the school and local trust

What we’re looking for:

QTS or expected by July 2025

A relevant degree in a DT-related field

*

Passion for technical education and project-based learning

*

Organised, proactive, and eager to build strong relationships with students

*

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
