Aberdeen Laundry Services (ALS Group) is seeking a Driver to join our team. As a leading textile rental and laundry provider with four strategic sites across Scotland, we're looking for someone who can elevate our brand presence while championing our sustainability initiatives.

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of responsibility and safety while driving, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of goods transported. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate various driving conditions. This is a temporary position with the potential to transition into a permanent role. The schedule may include up to six working days per week, with shifts ranging from 8 to 10 hours depending on seasonal demands.

Driver Responsibilities

* Conducting Daily/Weekly Vehicle Maintenance Checklist recording any faults or damage.

* Ensuring van is clean/tidy and fit for purpose.

* Adhere to the driver’s policy for safe loading and unloading of vehicles.

* Following and completing Daily Run Sheet with date, start/finish time, start milage and end milage.

* Using mobile phone/App to communicate regarding additional collections/deliveries.

* Collecting/delivering bags of linen, towels, or workwear to customers in a timely and polite manor.

* Dropping bags with dirty linen/towels/workwear at the relevant factory ensuring all bags are clearly marked with customer name.

* Recording number of bags dropped if required.

* Any customer dockets collected to be delivered to relevant factories with dirty linen.

* Ensure the vehicle is fuelled ready for the next shift.

* Ensuring the van is secured at the end of shift.

* All completed paperwork to be left in office daily.

* From time to time, you may be asked to assist in the factory.

Driver Skills

* Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.

* Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues.

* Experience in commercial driving roles is highly desirable.

* Familiarity with delivery driver responsibilities, including route planning and time management.
