A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their Housing Repairs Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing maintenance and repairs environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to carry out comprehensive in-house technical surveying and inspections relating to repairs, maintenance, disrepair, refurbishment, and capital investment projects across council housing and public buildings.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Undertaking inspections (pre-, during, and post-works) including disrepair and voids inspections.
• Preparing specifications and overseeing remedial works across domestic and public properties.
• Providing specialist technical advice and support to internal departments and external contractors.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying
• Full Driving Licence and access to vehicle
• Understanding of the Disrepair Protocol
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Ability to write Part 35 compliant expert reports
• Ability to attend joint expert inspections and act as an expert witness in court
• Previous experience in a local authority or social housing provider setting

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £250 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £200 per day PAYE).
