Billingham (Home of McCoy’s, Wheat Crunchies, pombear and more…) 

Shift Pattern: This role follows a repeating two-week shift pattern:

  • Week 1: Work Thursday and Friday, followed by four days off

  • Week 2: Work Friday to Monday (inclusive), followed by six days off

 Shifts run from 06:00 - 18:00.

In this role, you’ll support production by carrying out planned maintenance, fault-finding and equipment improvements, ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently. With strong mechanical and electrical skills, you’ll play a key role in keeping our operations moving while being part of a supportive and forward-thinking team.

What will you be doing? 

  • Carry out planned maintenance and equipment overhauls to keep our production lines running safely and smoothly.

  • Tackle complex electrical and mechanical faults – a chance to put your problem-solving skills to the test in a fast-paced environment.

  • Collaborate with the weekend maintenance team to deliver high standards of engineering support and share best practices.

  • Drive improvements in equipment performance that directly impact production efficiency and site reliability.

  • Gain hands-on experience with lean tools and continuous improvement initiatives, supporting your growth and development as an engineer.

We’d love to hear from you if you can demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience: 

  • You’ll bring strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, with a solid understanding of how to keep equipment performing at its best.

  • Your fault-finding and problem-solving skills will help the team quickly resolve issues and support overall team success.

  • You’ll hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification in an electrical discipline – this is essential and used as a key requirement for shortlisting.

  • The 18th Edition electrical certification is preferred, but if you don’t have it yet, don’t worry – we can support you with the necessary training.
